How to Add Your Business Information in Squarespace

Hey there đź‘‹

One small but important step before you go fully live with your new website? Making sure your business details are accurate and up to date — especially things like your location, hours, and contact info.

This info shows up in places like your site footer, contact page, and even in search engines when people look for your business. Here’s how to fill it all in correctly using Squarespace’s built-in Business Information panel.

đź›  Step-by-Step: How to Fill Out Your Business Info

  1. Log into your Squarespace account

  2. In the left menu, go to:
    Settings > Business Information

  3. Fill out each section:

    • Business Name: This is how your brand name appears in structured data and templates

    • Email: Add your customer-facing email address

    • Phone Number: Enter a number where people can reach you (optional)

    • Address: Add your physical or mailing address (especially important for local businesses!)

    • Hours: Set your business hours — you can add daily open/close times or a custom message like “By Appointment Only”

  4. Click Save when you're done

đź“Ť Where This Info Shows Up

  • If your template uses a built-in footer layout or contact section, this info may already display automatically.

  • You can also pull it into other parts of your site using summary blocks or code.

  • Most importantly, this info helps search engines understand your business and improves your local SEO.

đź’ˇ Why It Matters

  • Builds trust with potential customers

  • Helps Google index your business properly (especially for maps and search results)

  • Ensures consistency across your website and other platforms

Even if you're an online business with no physical location, it’s still helpful to include hours, an email, or a city for SEO purposes.

And that’s it! Easy but important. Keeping your business info updated shows your audience that your brand is legit, active, and ready to connect.

Alison Strate

Here is a little bit about me. I am a millennial, married, and young mother of three beautiful children. I live in Southern Utah and love the outdoors. I have a B.S. in Horticulture (the study of plants) and a minor in marketing. I like to think that my degree in horticulture really paved the way for me as a designer. I love color and using it to capture an audience.

My journey into the world of web design began back in 2014, when I designed a website for the company I was working for as their marketing manager. I fell in love with Squarespace and since my husband and I were starting a family I realized designing websites was something I could do from home. Ever since then I have been building websites on the Squarespace platform. I have loved how it has evolved and consider myself an expert in Squarespace.

My design approach is a blend of nature's beauty and strategic thinking. It's been an incredible journey from the serene world of plants to the dynamic realm of digital design, and I've found joy in blending these seemingly disparate fields. From cozy local businesses to vast solar farms in the Australian countryside, my portfolio reflects the diversity of projects I've had the pleasure of working on over the years. I believe in crafting websites that not only look good but also feel like a true reflection of the businesses they represent.

If you're in search of a seasoned designer who combines creativity, dedication, and empathy, look no further. I'm here to collaborate with you on your digital projects, ensuring they not only meet but exceed your expectations. Let's work together to create captivating digital experiences that resonate with your audience and achieve your business goals.
